Here is an amazing Extra Credit Opportunity for you to participate in our democracy! MCNY’s Student Services is planning a “Lobby Day” trip to Albany to attend the 2012 Student Advocacy Day. The trip takes place Tuesday, February 7, 2012 (approximately 6 am- 5 pm), and transportation and meals will be provided. If you are interested, email Togunusi@mcny.edu or stop by Student Services BEFORE Monday, January 30, 2012 to RSVP.
“Lobby Day” gives students the opportunity to network with other college students, while reminding legislators of the importance of student aid, including opportunity programs. You will receive up to three points for attending Student Advocacy Day. You may Tweet, Blog, or write a short response paper (the old fashioned way!) about your experience to receive credit. You may also be able to use the experience in upcoming essays for this class and/or your others.
