Part of the Brooklyn Public Library's amazing April Adult Series of classes and talks is this one on conducting family oral histories. This particular event is inspired by the Museum's current exhibition, Question Bridge: Black Males, which is a video installation of interviews of 150 black men, spliced together as if they are having a conversation with each other about a range of topics. The creators of the exhibition hope it will serve as a "catalyst for constructive dialogue that will help deconstruct stereotypes about Black male identity in our collective consciousness." This will be particularly interesting to those enrolled in the Communicating Across Cultures course in the BAUS program.
Here's the Museum's other wonderful offerings in their Adult Series: http://us2.campaign-archive1.com/?u=edf19d80b54c0a60a1b913610&id=44d2460181&e=d32f580654
