In class during week 3, you started drafting a personal essay about your "turning point." For homework you are being asked to REVISE (remember: REVISION as RE-VISION) that turning point draft into a final draft. Consider the literary techniques used in Push (as discussed in the second half of class: dialogue, flashbacks, character development, plot, etc.) as well as the excerpt from "My Right Hand" (in turn an excerpt from Blood Brothers) to help you craft your story. Your personal essay should have a narrative trajectory and use the conventions of descriptive writing (sensorial language).
Your final should be at least 600 words (approximately 2 and 1/2 pages). Leave time for proofreading and editing. Remember writing is a constant process of re-writing, re-thinking, and re-drafting. Leave time for that process.
Bring a printout to class AND post the essay on your blog.
